Living Arts Foundation is a non-profit company, an initiative that aims to bring quality of life and community upliftment and development through sustainable and conscious lifestyle education, artistic expression and skills development. We endeavor to integrate the diverse socio-economic, cultural and disadvantaged communities in and around the Boland Area.
The adult numeracy and literacy courses have emerged from a call from community who wish to become confident in english language and numeracy skills, most of which are illiterate. LAF strives to meet this call for skills development, offering weekly numeracy and literacy classes for farm workers and for staff of Spier Estate and Sustainability Institute.
The AfterImage Studio is a space for the critical role of creative expression. The Crafter’s Corner works with the women of disadvantaged communities in artistic engagement and skills development through ceramics, basketry and other crafts; Working with youth at risk from a local youth program. Classes are also offered on Tuesday evenings for the public.
Sisonke Social Circus aims to bring together the diverse and often divided children and youth of the Boland through the magic of circus arts. Sisonke is free of charge for all participants.The children work and play together, learning valuable life skills and breaking down the invisible barriers between marginalized communities.
Motion is a cutting edge movement therapy from Germany. It is designed to not only stretch muscles but more importantly to stretch and strengthen the Facia, the main cause of joint and back pain! Classes are on Thursday morning between 8 – 9am
Sun Light Music Studio is run by Svetlana Ivanova. She offers music lessons for children and adults as well as developing music appreciation and community development through concerts and community events.

The Shed is a great venue to hire for events such as weddings, sport days and corporate events.The Shed is a renovated barn with added window sections and finished floors. The high sloping ceiling, natural lighting, four interconnected spaces, two of which are defined by pillars, and a generous stage creates a spacious, yet intimate venue with good ambiance.
The Livings Arts Foundation is run by a team of professional performers who hold a space for others to learn the skills to also be performers. We encourage events happening in The Shed to hire our performers for entertainment as it not only will add a vibrant dynamic to your event but you further support our community that we are growing here. We have world class circus performers and we are connected to a beautiful community of carnies who can make any dream of yours come true.
